Lives the Sea Had Left

The Collected Poems of Ted Walker

Read and be astonished. With vivid images drawn from nature, the sounds of the sea, and a keen eye for human behaviour, Ted Walker gives voice to feelings you recognise but cannot quite put into words.

“This magisterial edition, long overdue, gives Ted Walker what he has deserved for so long.”
Dr Oliver Tearle, Loughborough University

What motivates me

Fiction that informs and (sometimes) enrages, but never preaches

Only two criteria really matter: the work makes us think, and it is a bloody good read.

Ed Walker, publisher

RedLines Press publishes new fiction, literature in translation and poetry in the tradition of socially engaged writing: books like A Kestrel for a Knave, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists and B. Traven’s The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

Oskar Maria Graf belongs to that same tradition. The two novels translated here, We Are Prisoners and Anton Sittinger, offer a radical inside view of Weimar Germany. Such literature can take any form, but it should never be propaganda.
